Shortly after you have made your enquiry a member of our friendly claims team will be in touch to discuss your claim in more detail. You will first receive a message to confirm we have received your enquiry, followed by a phone call from an 0151 number.

Providing evidence

If we think you might have an eligible claim, we will ask you to provide evidence of the disrepair issue and evidence that you have reported these issues to your landlord. Don't worry, we'll guide you through exactly what you need to send us.

Settlement

Your lawyer will then negotiate with your landlord to secure appropriate repairs and compensation for your troubles. This will include a schedule of works/deadline for repairs so you know your issues will be sorted.

Legal support

Your lawyer will send a Letter of Claim to your landlord setting out the issues, what repairs are needed and the impact on your and your family. We will then arrange for an independent surveyor to complete an inspection.

How much compensation could I get for disrepair?

What does ‘no win no fee’ mean?

Do I need to complain to my landlord first?

What evidence do I need for a disrepair claim?

Housing disrepair compensation depends on the seriousness and the type of the disrepair, how long you’ve lived with it, how long you've been trying to get repairs done, and how it’s affected you. You could receive:

  • A percentage of your rent back.
  • Money for damaged belongings
  • Compensation for health issues or inconvenience.

‘No Win, No Fee’ means exactly that, you don’t pay us anything upfront, and if your claim is unsuccessful, you won’t owe us a penny. If your claim is successful, our fee is 50% of the compensation you receive. There are no hidden charges, no extra deductions, and no costly ATE insurance premiums to worry about.

We believe in complete transparency, so you’ll always know exactly what to expect from the very beginning.

Evidence is essential for a successful claim. It helps to have:

  • Photos or videos of the damage.
  • Copies of repair requests or complaint letters.
  • Medical notes (if your health has been affected).
  • Proof of damage to belongings.

Yes. For a successful claim you must have reported the problem to your landlord and given them a reasonable amount of time to fix it. If they ignore you or delay repairs, that’s when you may have grounds for a claim. We will be able to tell you if the amount of time you've been waiting for repairs is reasonable or not.
